HORSE SEARCH
searches the entire data base given various criteria. Any field or group of fields can be used as search parameters. A
list is then produced which matches the search criteria. That list can be printed out in its entirety (PRINT) or a
particular horse can be selected (click on it). If a horse is selected, you will be routed immediately to its report to
either view or print.
In the list that is created, there may be two codes at the end of the line for a particular horse. The code Ph means that
there are photographs of the horse and if you click on the Ph you will be routed directly to the photographs. The code Vd
means that there are videos of the horse and if you click on the Vd you will be routed directly to the videos. If there are
no codes, no photographs or videos have been entered for this horse.

Famous Horses |
Check this box to include in the search only famous Virginia horses. All other search parameters (e.g. breed, owner, trainer / rider,
discipline, etc.) can be used in addition but the universe searched will be limited to famous Virginia horses. For example, you can
search for all famous Virginia hunters.
|
Discipline |
If you are looking for a horse that is active in a particular discipline, click on the little arrow and the choices will appear.
Click on the appropriate discipline for which you are searching. The search can be conducted for up to TWO disciplines at a
time. If you are searching for one discipline, do NOT check either the AND box or the OR box. If you are searching for two
disciplines, you must check either the AND box or the OR box but not both. The AND box is more restrictive than the OR box.
For example, if you are looking for a hunter that can do equitation, then check the AND box. However, if you are looking for
either a hunter or an equitation horse, check the OR box.

If you are searching specifically for semen, check this box and all horses (stallions and geldings) for whom semen is available
will be included in the search. The owner of the horse must have specifically checked the Semen Available box on the HORSE ENTRY
screen for the semen to be considered available. The web site does NOT assume that merely because a horse is a stallion, his semen
will be available. As a result, it would be a good idea to check Stallions as well and contact the owner directly. Note that if
semen is available and the search includes it, an "S" will appear after the gender on the search results.
