MY HORSES is identical to the ENTER HORSES page. The only difference is that the LOOK UP, NEXT, and PREVIOUS buttons will show only those horses entered by this particular user. Either page can be used to enter data about a horse. It is also the primary place where information about a particular horse can be found. It contains links to the pages that contain the photographs, videos, and registry information about the horse.

If a photograph has been selected as the thumbnail (see MANAGE PHOTOS page) for this horse, it will be used as a thumbnail picture on this page. If none has been selected, the first photograph will be used.

Fields

Horse Name

If ENTERING data for a horse, enter the name of the horse. Only letters, numbers, and an apostrophe can be entered and the name will be set to all upper case. If SEARCHING for a horse, enter the first few letters of the horse name. A box will appear from which you can select the particular horse. As you type more letters, entries in the box will disappear. When you find the particular horse for which you are searching, click on that entry and all the information about the horse will appear on the screen.

Sale or Lease

Click on the little arrow and the choices will appear. Click on the appropriate line if this horse is available for SALE or LEASE.

Horse Id

The system assigns a unique identification number to each horse. In addition to the name, the Horse Id can be used on other pages of this web site.

Gender

Click on the little arrow and the choices will appear. Click on the appropriate line.

Semen Availble

If the horse is a stallion or gelding and semen is available, click on the box. It is NOT assumed that merely because a horse is a stallion, his semen will be available or that because he is a gelding, there is no semen available. If semen is available, this box should be checked.

Height

Enter the height in hands and inches. Inches can contain a decimal representing an eighth fraction (e.g., .125 .25, .375, .5).

Breed

Click on the little arrow and the choices will appear. Click on the appropriate line.

Disciplines

Click on the little box and various disciplines will appear. Check the particular box for the discipline for which the horse is qualified. Up to TEN boxes (disciplines) may be checked but consider whether the horse really is or has been active in the discipline.

Registries

Click on the little box and various registries will appear. Add the registration number for this horse. The complete registry information, including free form entries (non-machine readable registries) is maintained on the MANAGE REGISTRIES page. To go directly to that page, click on the MANAGE REGISTRIES button within the pop-up box and all entries will be saved and you will be transferred to the page.

Color

Click on the little arrow and the choices will appear. Click on the appropriate line.

Markings

Click on the little arrow and the choices will appear. Click on the appropriate line. The order of the FACIAL markings does not matter.

Birth Date

Enter the birth date in the form of Month-Day-Year (either 2 or 4 digits) with any delimiter or just the 4 digit Year.

Breeder

The information for the breeder should have been entered previously on the PEOPLE ENTRY page where the appropriate box (Involvement) is checked. Enter a few letters of the last name or farm name and a box will appear with all breeders that match those letters. Continue entering letters until the correct name appears and then click on that name. In the event that the breeder has not been entered previously, a box will pop up asking if you want to enter minimal information about that person or farm in order to continue. If so, follow the instructions to add the person or farm as breeder. At a later time, you can add additional information about the person or farm.

Birth State

Enter the two character state code.

Birth Country

Start typing the name of the country. Select the country from the drop down box. Only the United States will allow state codes.

Sire

Select the sire from stallions entered PREVIOUSLY on this page. The information for the stallion SHOULD have been entered previously. Enter a few letters of the name and a box will appear with the names of all the stallions that match those letters. Continue entering letters until the correct name appears and then click on that name. In the event that the stallion has not been entered previously, a box will pop up asking if you want to enter minimal information about that stallion in order to continue. If so, click on ADD SIRE and the name and gender will be added automatically. At a later time, you can add additional information about the stallion.

Dam

Select the dam from mares entered PREVIOUSLY on this page. The information for the mare SHOULD have been entered previously. Enter a few letters of the name and a box will appear with the names of all the mares that match those letters. Continue entering letters until the correct name appears and then click on that name. In the event that the mare has not been entered previously, a box will pop up asking if you want to enter minimal information about that mare in order to continue. If so, click on ADD DAM and the name and gender will be added automatically. At a later time, you can add additional information about the mare.

Owner

The information for the owner should have been entered previously on the PEOPLE ENTRY page where the appropriate box (Involvement) is checked. Enter a few letters of the last name or farm name and a box will appear with all owners that match those letters. Continue entering letters until the correct name appears and then click on that name. In the event that the owner has not been entered previously, a box will pop up asking if you want to enter minimal information about that person or farm in order to continue. If so, follow the instructions to add the person or farm as owner. At a later time, you can add additional information about the person or farm.

Date Acquired

Enter the date the owner acquired the horse in the form of Month-Day-Year (either 2 or 4 digits) with any delimiter or just the 4 digit Year.

Trainer

The information for the trainer should have been entered previously on the PEOPLE ENTRY page where the appropriate box (Involvement) is checked. Enter a few letters of the last name or farm name and a box will appear with all trainers that match those letters. Continue entering letters until the correct name appears and then click on that name. In the event that the trainer has not been entered previously, a box will pop up asking if you want to enter minimal information about that person or farm in order to continue. If so, follow the instructions to add the person or farm as trainer. At a later time, you can add additional information about the person or farm.

Date Arrived

Enter the date the trainer began to work with the horse in the form of Month-Day-Year (either 2 or 4 digits) with any delimiter or just the 4 digit Year.

Agent

The information for the agent should have been entered previously on the PEOPLE ENTRY page where the appropriate box (Involvement) is checked. Enter a few letters of the last name or farm name and a box will appear with all agents that match those letters. Continue entering letters until the correct name appears and then click on that name. In the event that the agent has not been entered previously, a box will pop up asking if you want to enter minimal information about that person or farm in order to continue. If so, follow the instructions to add the person or farm as agent. At a later time, you can add additional information about the person or farm.

View the photographs entered for this horse. If there are no photographs for this horse, this button will be blanked out.
